On the night of 2nd April, like-minded individuals and partners of Sol Luminaire® gathered at Balestier to celebrate cutting-edge lighting and new home innovations. As a globally recognised design hub, Singapore is the best launchpad for forward-thinking brands, and tonight, all eyes were on Lyfa and Pulp, the newest additions to Rooms by Sol Luminaire®.

For the uninitiated, Lyfa is a storied name in Danish lighting design, a place where Denmark’s most esteemed designers have left their mark. Since its founding in 1903, they’ve been a beacon of Danish craftsmanship, embodying a design philosophy that merges aesthetic beauty with purposeful function. During the House of Lights, we had the privilege of unveiling Lyfa’s most iconic pieces like the Memoir, Verona, and Mosaik lamps for the first time in Singapore.
Each of these designs tells a story: Memoir, with its sculptural opalised form, casts a warm glow that transforms any space into an intimate haven; Verona is a masterpiece of layered aluminium that offers a harmonious interplay of light and shadow; and Mosaik, designed by the incomparably Bent Karlby, exemplifies modularity and functional elegance, proving that great design is both timeless and adaptable.
Elsewhere at Rooms by Sol Luminaire®, a different kind of artistry took centre stage. Pulp, developed in-house by our team at Sol Luminaire®, is a collection of sculptural luminaires that celebrate raw artistry and sustainable design. Each piece is hand-sculpted from recycled pulp and enriched with delicate mulberry silk, creating an organic texture that celebrates the beauty of imperfection.
Within the Pulp series are four distinct collections; Paper, Fray, Mulberry Silk, and Fabric, each bringing their unique character to light—literally. Paper distils the material down to its purest form, offering a crisp silhouette that balances translucency and shadow, while Fray is raw and expressive with a deliberately unfinished texture that highlights the organic process of creation.
The Mulberry Silk collection features a refined softness in pendant, wall sconce, and table lamp editions that envision smoky wisps swirling around the lampshades. Meanwhile, the Fabric lamps play with folds and drapery structured within a brass canopy frame that makes it look both fluid and architectural.
Beyond Lyfa and Pulp, House of Lights brought together an array of forward-thinking brands, each pushing the boundaries of form, function, and materiality. Ornate+ introduced a new perspective on functional design with its decorative ventilation blocks, proving that even the most utilitarian elements can be elevated into artistic statements. Oculus Collective’s Phantom Door series impressed guests with their new doors that blend seamlessly into walls with no visible hinges.
On the technological front, Futurahaus unveiled the Janus Smart Kinetic Switch Backing which allows for seamless wall mounting, while KKPL’s Aerify tackled humidity control with a smart dehumidifier designed specifically for wardrobes and shoe closets.
The fusion of functionality and aesthetics was also evident in SPIN’s collaboration with Kabel, introducing ceiling fans with a premium, decorative finish that seamlessly integrates into stylish interiors. Meanwhile, Noble Surfaces’ Kabel Villa series presented a fresh approach to the wall paint, offering a rich palette designed to enhance spatial depth and texture.
Over at Galerie 5, the spotlight was on SkLO’s Peak Chandelier and Sconce that captivate with hand-blown glass and perfectly-proportioned cones. Meanwhile, eshen ceramics unveiled the Folds Table Lamp that imbues an earthy texture into any space with no need for complicated installations. The full Lyfa collection will also be made available at Galerie 5.
Nearby, the LAB2.1 showed off boundary-pushing luminaires, including Mario Tsai Studio’s Pagoda and the new Polar light fixtures, plus a-emotional light’s Nevo and Onn table lamps that are a study in organic curves within contemporary design.
As the evening unfolded, House of Lights became more than a product showcase. It was a glimpse into the future of lighting and home design. From the sculptural elegance of Lyfa to the raw, handcrafted artistry of Pulp, the event underscored a collective vision: one where design is not just about aesthetics, but also experience, sustainability, and pushing creative boundaries.
For those who missed it, Rooms by Sol Luminaire® remains a space where these pioneering designs can be experienced firsthand as a house of lights that continues to glow with inspiration.
