Designers & Crafters: A Dialogue Between Tradition and Modernity

This year’s edition of Designers & Crafters, curated by Industry+, unfolds as a meditation on how tradition and modernity continually converse in design. The exhibition gathers international and regional voices whose works transform familiar materials into new expressions of identity and innovation.

Rattan, metal, reclaimed timber, glass, and plastic are reinterpreted with fresh intent — not only as functional objects, but as vessels of memory and experimentation.

These pieces reveal how craft continues to shape the way we live and perceive the world today. Accompanying the designer pieces are new arrivals from Roomies.

Adding to the dialogue are Paper.Quartz.1 and Paper.7 by Rooms, pendant lamps crafted in paper-pulp whose sculptural play of rhythm and translucency diffuses a soft, frosty glow.

Alongside these are new arrivals from the Roomies: SPIN introduces the Sphere Corner Fan, a compact and refined solution for urban interiors; Futurahaus unveils Aether, a 10” touchscreen hub designed as the elevated core of smart living; Noble Surfaces expands their Kabel Textured Wall collection with finishes that merge natural tactility and climate-ready durability; and KKPL presents wardrobe and kitchen systems with motorised lifters, glowing drawers, and space-saving larders that redefine storage as architecture.

The exhibition spotlights Multistandard Studio, Sohma Furutate, Ryota Akiyama, Daki Tado, Daisugasawa, Jun Yasumoto, Kazunaga Sakashita, Studio Karyn Lim, Studio Kallang, Alvin T. Gabriel Lichauco, Charif Lona, Studio RYTE.

In partnership with Futurahaus, KKPL, Noble Surfaces, Oculus Collective and Spin. All products on display are available for viewing and purchase. Swing by Rooms by Sol Luminaire®.
