The introduction of the Boba light series was a game-changer. Its globular shape, reminiscent of pearls in the beloved beverage it’s named after, has since filled plenty of living and commercial spaces with gentle illumination and a touch of whimsy, akin to how bubble teas have filled our bellies with sweet joy since our first sip. We’re expecting to see plenty more spaces in 2024 and beyond adopt luminaires like the Boba that are softer on the edges and eyes.
But the Boba doesn’t only come in one standar"We’re expecting to see plenty more spaces in 2024 and beyond adopt luminaires like the Boba that are softer on the edges and eyes."d fixture. Apart from being able to fit into the standard fixtures - recessed, exposed, track, and wall - the Boba luminaires also now come in a pendant form. "We’re expecting to see plenty more spaces in 2024 and beyond adopt luminaires like the Boba that are softer on the edges and eyes."
The new Boba pendants aren’t just re-styled lights that are hung from a single wire. The Boba Chain, one of the new additions that are available today, see the Boba globe lights suspended from a series of chains that evoke a raw, industrial aesthetic. Depending on the colour palette of your home, you can also choose between a couple of colours for the chain including gold, black, and silver.
Another new edition of the Boba that’s joining the family is the Boba Pendant. Atop the luminaire rests a shade, designed with an undulating surface and a contrasting finish. The lamp can be customised for a treatment in full steel, black/gold, or just black.
These two new additions to the Boba series are just the beginning of something greater, and you can expect to see more varied editions of the Boba luminaire in time to come. Especially when lighting designs in the coming year are predicted to feature more layering where multiple lights come together to create a well-rounded atmosphere. With more Boba iterations that will still sport its signature diffused glow and a softer appearance, you can combine multiple styles to cover both your task lights and ambient lighting for the perfect mood at home.
If you’re someone who needs to see how the luminaires perform in person, you can pop by Sol Luminaire or the LAB 2.1's showrooms at 395 and 399 Guillemard Road respectively.
