How to Make Your Home Look and Feel Like a Luxury Showflat

You might have decorated your home the way you want it – complete with Antwerp-sourced vintage loveseats and that prized Jean-Michel Basquiat-signed art prints. Yet, it doesn't feel like home quite yet because something about the colours is just not right.

Blame it on the lighting.

When it comes to showcasing the colours of an interior, the Colour Rendering Index (CRI) emitted from a light source plays a crucial part. Measured on a scale from 1 to 100, a high CRI index means the light is better at revealing colours accurately. A CRI from a light source also enhances the visual crispness of the area or object.

That means even if your home looks stark white, it may not be showing you the right colours and instead, give off an unwanted dull outlook.

All of AEON lights are marked at a high CRI of 90, giving a clear and sharp visual output. Pictured above: Line Adjust.

Correlated Colour Temperature (CCT) is what causes the colour of the light to be warm yellow or stark white, and should not be confused with the CRI.

What we would recommend is to opt for a high CRI of 90, and a comfortable CCT of 3000K warm white. The result is a warm and cosy vibe, the kind you experience in a luxury condo showflat.

Still unsure of how CRI and CCT works? Visit our showroom and toggle with the remote at our specialised CRI/CCT zone to experience.
