Introducing 397, A Convergence Between Craft, Light, and Design

There’s a new light between 395 and 399 Guillemard Road.

For years, the Sol Luminaire® flagship showroom and the LAB2.1 stood as distinct showcases. The former was grounded in the everyday elegance of residential interiors, while the latter was an ode to experimentation and the avant-garde. Now, with the arrival of 397, the space between them turns from a quiet void into a bridge between two realms of design that we’re oh-so-familiar with.

397 doesn’t just expand the footprint of Sol Luminaire®. The walls between have come down—literally—and the new space ushers in a new era that combines practicality with provocation in thoughtfully curated zones. Ahead of its official opening on 16 May 2025, here is a sneak peek of what you can expect to find at 397 Guillemard Road.

397 is divided into three areas by way of a dramatic V-shaped volume clad with mirrors. This structure sits at the heart of the new wing and is deliberately spaced away from the ceiling to maintain the spatial fluidity. The mirror cladding softens edges and introduces pockets of visual intrigue as visitors to 397 walk around the space.

Elsewhere, curved walls, floating display panels, and sculptural plinths in soft concrete, matte white, natural wood, and black accents provide a quiet, elegant backdrop to the main characters of the showroom.

The latest offerings of Sol Luminaire®’s in-house label AEON® take centre stage at 397.

Two worlds collide in Blobby, a series of decorative glass luminaires that feature a fluted glass body with knurled brass accents in a glamorous silhouette. The collaboration between Sol Luminaire® and Ornate+ is available in gold and gun metal in a variety of formats: wall lights, pendants, and suspended editions.

Another new addition to the AEON® family is Pressed, a collection of outdoor lights that are defined by textured glass and a petite, elegant silhouette. You can pick from a palette of gold, gun metal, black, and white while mixing and matching between three textures: opal, waffle, and ripple.

Adjacent to the Pressed display at 397 is Taro.Q. Designed and named after the beloved bubble tea topping, this reinterpretation of the iconic silhouette of the Boba series introduces a new visual language to the AEON® line with its smooth, bulbous shape and softly sculpted curves.

A new luminaire that sports a more familiar aesthetic is the 30MM, named after its micro diameter. Sleek, minimal, and inspired by Morse code, it has a modular nature allowing for single, double, and triple configurations.

The Nocte takes fan favourite luminaires like the Boba, Kepler V2, and Carra S5 and turns them into floor lamps. This collection also introduces Rust into the colour index of Sol Luminaire®.

Last, the beloved Globula series gets a stylish refresh with a fluted texture, adding a new dimension to its soft geometry. Now available in a wall light, exposed, and track formats, the Fluted Globula also becomes fully compatible with the Circuit.11 system.

Aside from the new AEON® offerings, 397 will also be a space to shine a spotlight on local and independent artisans and creators. The first in this series of collaborators is Jovi Lim, a lamp designer and founder of the lighting label Sonogo.

Lim prides his work on being thoughtful and sustainable as he uses natural plant-based materials and 3D printing technology to create each lamp. His presence will mark the beginning of Sol Luminaire®’s mission to champion thoughtful design and provide a platform for emerging creatives within the region.

Come 16 May 2025, 397 will no longer be just an address on Google Maps. It’ll make the journey through the Sol Luminaire® lighting universe a seamless experience. Join us in a week from 5pm-7pm for an exclusive first look at the space, its curated lighting collections, and the designers behind them.
