Creating a home that feels both maximalist and meditative is a balancing act, but for Grace Lim — content creator, mental health advocate and mother — the secret lies in intentional zonings that compartmentalise her tasks.
Embracing an eclectic blend of mid-century modern bones and a lifetime of collectibles, the space prioritises a lived-in comfort over showroom perfection. To keep the visual noise of a busy life (and a growing family) at bay, the design leans heavily on clever hidden storage and the architectural charm of Ripple Gypsum fixtures.
By anchoring her ADHD-friendly workspace with consistent warm-white illumination, the home manages to support high-momentum productivity by day and restoration by night.
It’s a testament to the idea that you don’t need to change who you are to build a beautiful home, you just need the right light to see it by.

Congrats on the new home! What was the vibe you were going for?
I would say eclectic with a touch of mid-century modern, but honestly, more than anything, I just wanted a cosy home. A space filled with wood elements, warm lighting and room to display all our collectibles. I wanted it to feel like a home.
Your personal sty"It’s not something I intentionally planned, but it naturally shows up in the way I style my space."le leans towards eclecticism and maximalism. "It’s not something I intentionally planned, but it naturally shows up in the way I style my space."
I think that part of me just follows me everywhere, both in my work and at home. It’s not something I intentionally planned, but it naturally shows up in the way I style my space.

What’s your favourite part of the home?
I really can’t pick because I love all the corners, but the space I spend the most time in is our living area. That’s where my baby plays during the day while I do my own things around her, so it’s very special to me.
What were the must-haves you couldn’t compromise on during this renovation?
Definitely storage space and a settee. Storage is a big one for us, especially with a baby and all our things.

You own a lot of things. What’s your tip for storage that doesn’t affect the aesthetic of the home?
I try my best, but sometimes things overflow. For me, the most important thing is hidden storage. I’ve tried open-concept storage before, and it honestly just makes everything look messy very quickly. Hidden storage helps keep the space calm and visually clean.
One piece of advice you’d give to first-time homeowners?
Plan your home around the things you already ow"Plan your home around the things you already own and think about how other homes make you feel comfortable."n and think about how other homes make you feel comfortable. Don’t pressure yourself to create a new “ideal” space that feels out of reach or unrealistic. Is home a place for both rest and content creation? How do you separate the two?
It’s definitely both. My bedroom is strictly for resting, but with my ADHD, I work everywhere and anytime and if I don’t, I lose momentum. So my home really needs to support that flexibility. That’s where my Circuit.11 lights are set up. They give off a soft, warm glow that’s perfect for content, while still making the space feel cosy and comfortable.
What was your experience with Sol Luminaire®?
One of my visions was to have a home with consistent warm lighting. The colour of the light was really important to me, and that’s why I chose Sol Luminaire® again.

What products from Sol Luminaire® were you most impressed by?
I really love the Ripple Gypsum, the ceiling lights with the ripple design that add texture and interest without overwhelming my space.
With long working hours and being a mum, do the lights support your circadian rhythm? Do you feel calm at home?
Yes, definitely. The colour of the lighting is perfect for staying home all day. It doesn’t strain my eyes and really helps the space feel calm and comfortable.
