Lyfa Joins Sol Luminaire® – A Fusion of Danish Elegance & Singaporean Sophistication

For years, Lyfa remained a hidden treasure within the world of Scandinavian design—admired by connoisseurs but relatively unknown to most in Singapore. A brand with deep roots in Danish modernism, Lyfa has long been celebrated for its exquisite craftsmanship, yet it has flown under the radar in this part of the world.

Soon, that’s all about to change. With its official debut at Rooms by Sol Luminaire® on 2 April 2025, Singapore’s design enthusiasts will finally have the chance to experience Lyfa’s timeless lighting collections firsthand. From its storied past to its striking contemporary designs, Lyfa is ready to make its mark on our shores.

Since its inception in 1903, Lyfa has embodied the very essence of Danish design with clean lines, premium materials, and an unwavering focus on craftsmanship. With a heritage dating back to the golden age of Scandinavian modernism, the brand has continuously evolved while staying true to its fundamental design principles.

Beyond aesthetics, Lyfa embraces a philosophy centred around lightscapes—the art of shaping atmospheres through illumination. Each'Beyond aesthetics, Lyfa embraces a philosophy centred around lightscapes—the art of shaping atmospheres through illumination' luminaire is designed with the belief that light is not just a necessity but an experience, capable of transforming spaces and emotions. Guided by the principle of "embracing the good light," Lyfa’s luminaires offer a balance of ambient, functional, and accent lighting, ensuring every space is bathed in warmth and harmony. From pioneering lighting concepts to creating pieces that transcend trends, Lyfa’s portfolio reflects a masterful blend of form and function. Among its most distinguished creations are the Memoir, Verona, and Mosaik—each series embodying a different facet of Lyfa’s timeless appeal.

Memoir, a modern take on classic elegance

Designed by GamFratesi, the Memoir collection reinterprets the traditional chandelier, marrying classic influences with contemporary precision. The design features opal glass shades supported by linear metal structures, creating a soft, diffused glow that enhances any interior. Available in satin brass and matte black finishes, Memoir is a sophisticated yet understated piece that seamlessly bridges past and present.

Its modular configuration allows for multiple compositions, making it a versatile lighting solution for both residential and hospitality settings. Whether installed as a grand chandelier in a dining space or as a series of smaller fixtures in a corridor, Memoir’s atmospheric light lends warmth and intimacy to any room.

Verona, a study in glare-free illumination

First introduced in 1968 by Sven Middelboe, the Verona pendant is a study in functionalist lighting design. Inspired by the iconic Roman Arena di Verona amphitheatre, this luminaire features multiple circular shades meticulously arranged to diffuse light evenly, ensuring a glare-free and harmonious glow.

The floating effect of its layered structure adds to its ethereal elegance, making it a sophisticated choice for a wide range of interiors. Available in brass and white aluminium finishes, Verona’s multiple size options—from compact to statement-making large formats—allow it to adapt beautifully to different settings.

Mosaik, exemplifying modular brilliance by Bent Karlby

Designed by Bent Karlby, the Mosaik series exemplifies the designer’s innovative approach to modular lighting. Featuring conical lampshades connected by brass tubes, Mosaik’s structure allows for endless configurations, making it one of the most adaptable lighting systems in Lyfa’s collection.

Karlby’s vision for Mosaik was to create a lighting solution that was both visually striking and highly functional. The series’ geometric precision and play of light and shadow bring a sculptural presence to any space. Case in point: The UP/DOWN pendant features two conical lampshades, one facing up and the other facing down in a showstopping arrangement.

With Singapore’s growing appreciation for modern and functional aesthetics, Lyfa’s luminaires seamlessly enhance architectural spaces, from minimalist condos to heritage shophouses.

At Sol Luminaire, we take pride in curating and championing the best in lighting design, and our collaboration with Lyfa represents a significant milestone. Through Rooms by Sol Luminaire® and Galerie 5, we are excited to present Lyfa’s sculptural luminaires to the Singaporean audience, bridging Danish elegance with our expertise in architectural lighting.
