Having been in operation for thirteen years, the quality service and experience associated with Sol Luminaire can be credited to none other than the Sol Luminaire team that keeps the gears turning.
In this instalment of Meet the Team, we learn more about the people behind Sol Luminaire— their roles, experience, values, and what it is like to be a part of the Sol Luminaire family.
A look into the Sol Luminaire family
Kai, Sol Luminaire’s resident Gallery Manager has been on the team for 4 years. “As a gallery manager, I'm here to understand their space requirements and lifestyles,” says Kai. To balance out his hectic schedule throughout the week, he enjoys slowing down and relaxing over the weekend, be it at a good cafe for a laid-back brunch, or at home watching movies and series on Netflix, which helps to inspire him.
His favourite AEON luminaire would be the Halo series. Kai has personally used the Halo V1 series for years now, and enjoys Halo’s soft style of illumination that matches his interiors.
Other favourites of his are floor lamps from the LAB2.1— the SiO2 floor lamp and BaCO3 floor lamp, which he turns on while kicking back at night, thanks to their mild illumination.
Besides providing lighting solutions, educating and advising clients on matters involving illumination is imperative to the Sol Luminaire brand, as we want clients to understand all the necessary aspects of their future home, and feel completely comfortable and reassured.
“Achieving a well-lit, cosy space and another happy and satisfied client is my greatest satisfaction as a lighting specialist!” - Kai
“We work closely with interior designers and architects to ensure every homeowner’s lighting choices and plans are thorough and well thought out, giving them a peace of mind,” shares Edmund Ho, Sales Manager of Sol Luminaire.
Outside of work, Edmund’s interest in fashion and sneakers developed his taste for trends and spotting new materials and technology. Always one to see things differently, Edmund takes a particular interest in colours and textures. His favourite luminaire is Sol Luminaire’s upcoming release, the Isa V3, as it features interchangeable funnels in various finishing for customisation.
Gerald's insights are influenced by his passion for travelling and exploring new cultures.
"From plotting light to lighting design all the way to introducing different kinds of LED technology, my team and I will tailor a solution that addresses every imagined ambience and space," shares Gerald, Sol Luminaire’s Lighting Specialist.
His insightful advice for his clients is informed by his passion for travelling and exploring new cultures. His hobby has allowed him to spend time in beautiful spaces, and admire new sights such as architecture and buildings from different design movements.
Gerald’s favourite luminaire from Sol Luminaire is the Isa series, due to its subtle and timeless design. He finds that you “can’t go wrong” with Isa’s versatile design.
Brothers Momin and Aminul take care of Sol Luminaire's back-end operations.
Meanwhile, Sol Luminaire’s back-end operations have been assisted by brothers Momin and Aminul for nearly a decade. Originally from Bangladesh, the brothers spend their days off around the island —playing sports, cycling, and keeping active.
Though they may mostly work behind-the-scenes, their contributions do not go unnoticed, as thanks to their efforts, clients are able to experience the best service they can possibly get at Sol Luminaire.
