Sol Luminaire and Industry+ co curates 'Designers & Crafters edition 01'

The co-curated show organised by Sol Luminaire and Industry+ pays homage to Singapore’s designers and crafters, highlighting collectibles created through experimental approaches across multiple disciplines.

Christian+Jade

Christian+Jade, a dynamic design studio led by Christian Hammer Juhl (DK) and Jade Chan (SG), presents their artistic exploration of design in Copenhagen. Focusing on craft and material, their works challenge and enrich people's connections with objects and spaces, redefining attitudes towards living and consumption.

Through contextualising their design process within historical and cultural narratives, they create raw, honest pieces with deliberate material expression.

Masutani May

Masutani May, an artist hailing from Singapore and currently residing in Toyama, Japan, graduated from the Toyama Institute of Glass Art in 2020. Since then, she has honed her craft in Toyama, where she runs her own studio practice and serves as an assistant to various glass artists.

May's artistry with glass captures the fleeting and ephemeral nature of human interactions within their surroundings. Her work delves into the complexities of human nature and the subconscious mind, weaving a captivating theme that resonates throughout her pieces.

Jason Lim

Singaporean artist Jason Lim showcases a multi-dimensional exploration of nature, employing ceramics, sculpture, photography, film, and performance art. Rooted in meditation, his works evoke contemplation of our connection to the natural world. Lim's internationally showcased art, including at the Venice Biennale, has earned recognition with grants and awards, shaping contemporary art and fostering appreciation for nature's beauty.

Ashley Yeo

Ashley Yeo is a Singaporean artist with a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Arts London. Her paper sculptures explore geometry, precision, and the spiritual power of simple materials, revolving around themes of lightness and slowness. Yeo has exhibited internationally and was the first Singaporean artist shortlisted for the LOEWE Craft Prize. Delicate yet enduring, her sculptures reflect a profound relationship with nature and a meticulous form of care towards paper, making it endure despite its fragility. She continues to captivate audiences with her innovative and thought-provoking creations
